The 90’s digital hardcore icon Hanin Elias is out and about this autumn; your first chance to catch her behind the decks is on September 1st, at the fashion festival Berlin Dress. The festival is a glimmering showcase of the Berlin fashion culture, with a twist of short films, vogueing and fashion-art happenings, not to mention the line-up brought by Your Mom’s.
The show continues with another DJ set on September 19th at Prince Charles. At this after show of the contemporary art fair Preview, you’ll get an amazing line-up with Hanin on the decks, Aérea Negrot, Anything Maria and DAT Politics among others.
On September 20th, Hanin will perform live with That Fucking Sara on turntables at the ListenUp! festival in Gretchen. Listen Up! is a two-day music festival that promotes the visibility and networks of the diverse music scenes in Berlin, particularly in terms of gender, age, cultural identities, social background and (non-)disability. Besides the music program, Listen Up! hosts free workshops and panel discussions, with topics such as “Arty Berlin – Who is it For?” also on Saturday. Its aim is to challenging the conventions in the music industry, and is here to change the rules with a bang. Perfect fit to Hanin’s state of mind, who always likes to shake things up: her next album will be released in the spring of 2014 under a different name, no need to roll on one’s “big” name to bring new music into the scene.
