YMA always strives to create genuine connections with cultural hubs as we did in LA, Detroit and Beirut. Early 2025, we started this work in Tunisia, first is Sousse for the Journées Musicale de Carthage (JMC) with a workshop for the students of the High Institut of Music, then we turned to the heart of the old Tunis:
YMA, the collective Mixed Signals and the artist residency Dar Meso invite you to join a musical networking session and interactive workshop where emerging to established artists can learn or refine their self-promotion protocols.
Whether you are an artist doing your 360 degrees or working with management or a booker, you often have to balance the business side of your career with the creative side; you have to know how to self-promote, read a contract, manage your fans, learn new technologies… it’s a never-ending list!
In this workshop, we will lay out organizational methods adapted to artists to manage all these responsibilities efficiently and strategically, and we will look at your EPK (Electronic Press Kit).
• The workshop is free for all and the event is a safer space, everyone is welcome and no discriminatory behavior will be tolerated.
• RSVP to attend the workshop and/or to join the DJ open decks via https://forms.gle/xMFb1iZYuYMY5C6i9
If you only wish to attend the improv’ and/or networking session, feel free to just show up!
And on February 22nd 3PM, we invite you to another free workshop, at the Goethe Institut of Tunis:
• Join a 90-minute interactive workshop where emerging to experienced artists and professionals from the music and cultural industry will learn or refine how to promote their micro-business and how to pitch an independent label, a boutique production or composition studio, a graphic design or photography atelier, a consulting practice for artists, clubs, or festivals… any idea for a cultural micro-business is welcome at this workshop!
• RSVP HERE, more info on Facebook and the Institut’s website.
